Every custom trip starts with a conversation. How many days do you have, who's riding with you, what pace feels right, and what kind of adventure are you after? From there, I build a route, pick the stops, and arrange everything so you can just show up and ride.
The itinerary below is a real example of what a week on the road with me can look like – the Mae Hong Son Loop, hidden cafés, hot springs, tea villages, waterfalls and coffee plantations. Your version might be longer, shorter, faster, slower, or head somewhere else on the map entirely. That's the whole point.

Mae Hong Son Loop & Doi Inthanon – The Adventure Begins
We hit the road and start the legendary Mae Hong Son Loop! Our first stop: Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest peak, where we'll take a short hike to breathtaking panoramic views stretching across endless mountain ranges.
Along the way, we'll chase waterfalls, stopping at some of Thailand's most stunning cascades. Before the day ends, we'll visit a giant white Buddha statue, a hidden gem where we'll likely have the place all to ourselves.
Fun fact: at 2,565 meters, Doi Inthanon is Thailand's highest peak, and temperatures here can drop to near freezing — locals even wear winter jackets. This region also holds over 50 waterfalls, including Wachirathan, Siriphum and Mae Klang.
Hidden Cafés, Hot Springs & Relaxing Like the Romans
The ride to Mae Hong Son is nothing short of spectacular. Midway, we'll take a break at the most remote, tucked-away coffee shop, where the super chill owner makes an incredible Thai tea with coconut milk – a must-try.
By evening, we'll arrive at a secluded natural hot spring, where we'll enjoy a private group soak – channeling our inner Roman goddesses after a full day's ride.
Fun fact: this route is famous for its 1,864 curves to Mae Hong Son, drawing riders from all over the world just for the thrill. The region also carries strong Yunnanese influences, thanks to former Chinese soldiers who settled here in the 1940s.
Bamboo Walkways, Tea Tasting & A Night on Stilts
We start the morning with a beautiful walk across a bamboo bridge, winding through lush rice paddies toward a peaceful temple.
Next, we take a detour to Ban Rak Thai, a charming Chinese tea village near the Myanmar border, where we'll taste some of the best tea in Thailand. Tonight, we stay in bungalows on stilts, tucked deep into the mountains.
Fun fact: the 800-meter handmade bamboo bridge was originally built for monks to walk to town. Ban Rak Thai was founded by exiled Chinese soldiers, and its high-altitude tea is among the best in Thailand.
Exploring Nam Lod Cave & The Hippie Vibes of Pai
An early start gets us to Nam Lod Cave, where we'll explore its massive chambers before the tourists arrive. Then, we roll into Pai, a laid-back mountain town known for its hippie vibes and incredible coffee.
Here, we take a well-deserved break, then by evening ride to Pai Canyon for sunset, stop by a massive Buddha statue, and end the night strolling through Pai's famous night market.
Fun fact: Nam Lod Cave has a navigable river inside, best explored by bamboo raft paddled by locals with lanterns. Pai used to be a sleepy farming town before backpackers turned it into Thailand's ultimate hippie hub.
Chiang Dao & Whitewater Adventure
Back on the road, we ride to Chiang Dao, home to some of the best mountain views in Thailand. But first – a rafting adventure on the Mae Taeng River, cruising through lush jungle landscapes. If whitewater rafting isn't your thing, no worries – there's a cozy riverside café where you can relax instead.
Fun fact: Chiang Dao's massive mountain, Doi Luang, is Thailand's third tallest peak. The Mae Taeng River is Northern Thailand's top spot for rafting, with rapids suitable for beginners too.
Sakura Blossoms & Coffee Plantations
We start the day with a visit to the Royal Garden Arboretum, where cherry blossom trees bloom from December to February. Then we ride through the scenic mountain roads of Doi Kang, continuing to Doi Chaang, one of Thailand's most famous coffee-growing regions, to sip freshly brewed high-altitude Thai coffee.
Fun fact: every December to February, Thailand's mountains bloom with pink wild Himalayan cherry blossoms. Doi Chaang produces some of the best coffee in Thailand, grown by hill tribe communities.
Mountain Sunrises & Sticky Waterfalls
We wake up surrounded by mountain views and make our way back toward Chiang Mai, through lush rice fields, scenic reservoirs, and winding country roads. One last must-do stop: Sticky Waterfall, where you can literally walk up the waterfall barefoot.
Fun fact: Buatong Waterfall is covered in a special limestone mineral deposit that lets you walk straight up the flowing water. The twin suspension bridges at Mae Kuang Dam are a romantic hotspot where couples attach love locks.
