We kicked off our trip diving straight into the buzz of Thai traffic, getting used to left-side riding like pros. Soon enough, we found ourselves on top of Doi Inthanon 🏔, Thailand’s highest peak! The road was lined with blooming pink sakuras 🌸 —a rare sight that made the ride magical. After a quick trek to soak it all in, we found ourselves sipping coffee in the tiniest village café ever, where the owner’s kindness matched the beauty of the jaw-dropping mountain views.
We woke up to a freezing, foggy morning and threw on every layer we could find in our bags. But as the mist lifted, it revealed endless rice fields and rolling mountains. Soon, we rode up steep, twisty roads to a hidden Chinese village famous for its tea 🍵. And as if the day wasn’t already perfect, we topped it off with yet another epic sunset view—because here, there’s no such thing as too many viewpoints. 🌄
We started the day as the only souls inside a massive cave—just us, a guide, a few steering bamboo rafts, and thousands of bats hanging above our heads. Then came one of the most stunning stretches of the Mae Hong Son Loop, winding all the way to Pai. Once in Pai, we stuffed ourselves at the local night market and soaked up the town’s signature hippie vibes. 🛶🌙💦
We kicked off the day at the stunning Blue Temple 💙—a place as magical as it sounds. Then came the challenge: walking barefoot up the Sticky Waterfall (yes, it’s possible!). We wrapped it all up with a dinner and sunset overlooking Thailand’s third tallest peak 🏔 Doi Chiang Dao.
The morning started wrapped in a thick mountain fog, but as we sipped breakfast coffee, the mist melted away to reveal the lush jungle right in front of us 🌿. Fueled up, we set off on a mission to find more cherry blossoms 🌸 hidden along the mountain roads. The day’s grand finale? The iconic White Temple in Chiang Rai 🏯—a place that feels like stepping into a dream.
We hit the road to the remote province of Nan, where the legendary Route 1148 🛣️ treated us to one of the best rides of the trip—smooth curves, zero traffic, and endless grins under our helmet. It felt like the road was built just for us. We also climbed up to Phu Chi Fa 🏞️, where we could see Laos stretching out endlessly right in front of us.
We soaked up the curves of Nan’s epic roads 🏍️ and slowly made our way west, back toward Chiang Mai. Along the way, we stumbled upon another national park 🌿—with a completely different landscape than anything we’d seen before. New province, new vibes, new surprises at every turn!
Our final must-stop before handing back the bikes was the charming village of Mae Kampong 🏡. With a coffee in hand ☕, we enjoyed the lush greenery and wooden houses tucked into the hills, taking in the calm before saying goodbye to the adventure.
